Rev. Lance McCune
After serving as a pastor for thirty years, he got involved with the Fort Worth, Texas, police department following the events of September 11, 2001. He assisted in the development and coordination of efficient systems to support government agencies in collaborating with corporate leaders, faith-based organizations, and faith-based leaders to create robust and resilient communities during the thousands of hours he spent riding alongside patrol officers. Later on, this expanded to include emergency management, training other cities and government officials in faith-based community policing, and sharing the model with surrounding businesses for the benefit of their communities and, eventually, the entire nation.
Due to his experience and familiarity with these systems, Rev. McCune was appointed volunteer coordinator and later faith-based coordinator for his city of Fort Worth and Tarrant County, Texas. He was stationed at the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina (category 5, August 2005), Rita (category 5, September 2005), Gustav (category 4, August 2008), and Ike (category 4, September 2008). He founded Clergy & Police Alliance LLC and was also named the 2011 Super Bowl's faith-based coordinator. He and his wife are co-authors of the law enforcement training manual Strategic Community Policing.
Rev. McCune has worked with the Department of Homeland Security, the White House, and the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORTHCOM). He worked for many years with local government, corporations, and faith-based organizations. He was an active member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council (HASAC), Faith-Based Committee, helping the federal government to work with faith-based organizations. Furthermore, leaders in politics and religion consult with Rev. McCune.
Rev. McCune travels the country giving speeches, providing training, coaching, and sharing his vision of government agencies and faith-based organizations working together to create safe, resilient communities and a strong nation. He teaches corporations, universities, and faith-based organizations how to do this.
